About Corbett Tiger Reserve


Located in Uttarakhand, near Ramnagar, Corbett Tiger Reserve (earlier known as Jim Corbett National Park) is India’s oldest national park, established in 1936.

Spread across over 1,200 sq. km, the reserve includes dense forests, grasslands, and the Ramganga River that supports a rich variety of wildlife.

Home to Royal Bengal Tigers, leopards, elephants, deer, otters, and more than 600 species of birds.

The park’s ecosystem includes Sal forests, grasslands, riverine belts, and hilly terrain, making it one of India’s most diverse wildlife habitats.

Dhikala, Bijrani & Jhirna Zone apart from Core Forest Accommodations also available in Buffer Zone too

  • Accommodation inside Corbett Tiger Reserve is limited, making it a rare experience — Forest Rest Houses offer only a few rooms: 2 at Jhirna, 8 at Bijrani, 2 at Malani, 32 at Dhikala, and 2 at Sultan. Staying here lets you truly live amidst the wild.

  • November to June – Best for safaris and tiger sightings.



  • Monsoon (July to October) – Park mostly closed, but Jhirna Zone remains open.


  • Tiger sightings increase during the summer months, as rivers begin to dry up and these majestic cats prefer to stay near waterholes to cool off and hunt — making it the ideal season for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers.

To explore Corbett in the best possible way, it’s advisable to stay at least 2 nights allowing up to 4 safaris & increasing your chances of spotting the majestic tiger.


For nature lovers and photographers, staying inside Corbett’s Forest Guest Houses is a must! Book your accommodation well in advance — ideally 45 days prior or as per the official booking schedule


Tiger sightings in Corbett usually happen early in the morning or late in the evening. That’s why it’s wise not to waste a single minute — especially during your morning safari. You might just catch the majestic tiger walking right on the road!
