Visiting Rezang La "AHIR DHAM" – The High-Altitude Memorial

About Rezangla

The Rezang La War Memorial (Ahir Dham) stands as a proud tribute to the bravery and supreme sacrifice of the Indian soldiers, especially those of the 13 Kumaon Regiment, who fought valiantly in the Battle of Rezang La during the 1962 Indo-China War. This sacred site is a must-visit for every patriot who believes in ‘India First.’ Standing there evokes an overwhelming sense of pride and emotion—a true goosebump moment that connects you deeply with the spirit of the nation.

During the Sino-Indian War of 1962, Rezang La became the site of the legendary last stand of Charlie “C” Company of the 13 Kumaon Regiment, comprising 124 brave Indian soldiers from the Ahirwal region. The unit was commanded by Major Shaitan Singh, who fought with unmatched courage and leadership until his last breath. For his extraordinary valor and selfless sacrifice, Major Shaitan Singh was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military honor.
